The Beach Boys’ twentieth US (ergo 20/20) album, the nineteenth in the UK.
The album entered the US charts in March 1969, reached no.68 and spent only eleven weeks on the chart. In the UK, the album reached no.3 in
November 1969 and spent just ten10 weeks on the chart.
Three singles were released in the US: Do It Again (released before 20/20), reached
no.20, July 1968, Bluebirds over the Mountain reached no. 61 in December 1968 (again, prior to the release of 20/20) and
I Can Hear Music reached no.24 in June 1969. In the UK, Bluebirds reached no.33 and
I Can Hear Music reached the no.10 spot in February 1969 (prior to the UK album release). 20/20 was the last studio album
recorded for Capitol records. Capitol, would however, continue to release Beach Boys compilations albums, and also released the Live in
London album in 1976 in the US and Still Cruisin’
